Experienced Ecotoxicologist

Your tasks

You will be responsible for ecotoxicological risk assessments of chemical products, according to national and EU guidelines. Risk assessments cover mainly European bird and mammal species, but also other organisms. Your tasks include the support of clients in the preparation of risk assessment strategies, the preparation of reports and risk assessment dossiers and the training of new colleagues. You present new risk assessment approaches at conferences or workshops.

We expect a high degree of responsibility and self-organized work, but always help you to further develop your personal and technical skills. We offer a very flexible working environment.

Your profile

You have a strong ecological background and good knowledge of European wildlife. You are curious and find unconventional solutions, but you are always very target-oriented. You take responsibility. You have a reliable working style and good communication and social skills. A good background in statistics and in R is desirable. Fluent English (in spoken and written) is a requirement.

Ecological/ecotoxicological modeller

Your tasks

a) Ecological/ecotoxicological modelling:
You will be responsible for projects supporting the risk assessment of chemical products using ecological and ecotoxicological models and you develop new models yourself. Models include deterministic models, probabilistic models, population models and others (e.g. for birds, mammals, arthropods or others). You present models and new approach at conferences or workshops.
b) Ecology:
You analyse ecological data (e.g. literature, proprietary or other) in order to understand ecological mechanisms, which can be deduced from underlying data. These can be used for risk assessment and/or modelling purposes. The main focus will be on birds and mammals, but also other areas will be covered.

We expect a high degree of responsibility and self-organized work, but always help you to further develop your personal and technical skills. We offer a very flexible working environment.

Your profile

We are looking for a senior and a junior ecological modeller (two positions).

Senior ecolocial/ecotoxicological modeller

  • You have a strong ecological background (e.g. a PhD in respective areas) and you have a thorough programming experience (e.g. C++, Perl, Java). You are curious and find unconventional solutions, but you are always very target-oriented. You take responsibility. You have a reliable working style and good communication skills. Fluent English (in spoken and written) is a requirement.

Junior ecolocial/ecotoxicological modeller

  • You have a degree in biology, agronomy or in a similar area
  • You have good programming skills (optimally in C++)
  • You are interested in complex ecological questions
  • You are willing to contstantly learn new skills
  • Your working style is structured and target-oriented
  • You are a responible person, you know how to plan your work
  • Good command of English (e.g. preparation of scientific texts) is a prerequisite.

Honeybee field biologist

Your tasks

You will be responsible for field and semi-field trials with honeybees, according OECD/EPPO guidelines and also using new, invovative methods. Your tasks include the planning, organisation and conduct of trials (under Good Laboratory Practice, GLP), the evaluation of collected data and the preparation of risk assessments. You present results from studies at conferences or workshops.

We expect a high degree of responsibility, flexibility as always needed in field studies, and self-organized work, but of course we always help you to further develop your personal and technical skills. We offer a very flexible working environment.

Your profile

You have a strong ecological background and good knowledge of and practice with honeybees. You are a very responsible person and a very target-oriented person. You are able to see priorities and delegate work to field staff when needed. You have a reliable working style and good communication and social skills. You have fun developping new methods. Fluent English (in spoken and written) is a requirement.
